PESHAWAR: Amid growing number of polio cases in NWFP, the provincial health department on Thursday deployed polio staff at all entry points of the province.

NWFP Polio Program Coordinator, Muqim Khilji said that 32 new cases have been reported during 2008, out of which seven are Afghan refugees who could not be immunized with anti-polio drops because of their non-presence in the province.

Dr. Khilji said, “Health department has deployed medical staff at all entry points, adding Afghan children are being given anti-polio drops on Turkham check post.”
